A Buddy is a lot like a mentor.  You trust your buddy to support you and you hold you to account – that you will do what you say you’ll do.

If you are someone’s business buddy then on the days when they are struggling who’re they going to call? If it’s you who is struggling you don’t want Ghostbusters You need your buddy.

What would it be like if on that day someone came along and offered you a bit of help or support? Not just for a day or two to get you over the hump but rather on an ongoing basis so that you felt you had a genuine support to honestly look at the things that were holding you back. What difference would that make to you?

What about if you were to be the buddy? How would you change if your focus was off your troubles and on the issues of the other person? How would you feel if you were making a real difference in someone’s life or business? What impact would that have on the way you look at your own issues? And since you are buddies their view on your problem would help both of you Right?

In all the 12 step recovery programmes there is the sponsor who supports the person throughout their ongoing issues. It works for both people. The sponsor has a sponsor too so everyone is supported in their growth. Couldn’t the same system work for entrepreneurs?
